Porat
Porat is a tiny fishing village on the island of Krk. Porat is on the West side of the island, and is the last that is inhabited on the West. You can visit the Porat Monastery that was built in the 17th century and the Church Maria Magdalena Franciscan. The homes in Parat are made of traditional stone, and you can still see the Roman ruins. In this tiny village they raise grapes and olives, and of course, they still fish.
This village is still ran the old way and the people still use the traditional wooden fishing boats and Lobster nets. Near the Porat Beach you can eat or drink at the restaurant Stari Gusar (old pirate). In Porat there are three bays that you can visit. Tri Sestrice (three sisters), Mercedes Benz Bay, and St. Martin. All three of them are beautiful to the eye of the beholder. There are places to stay in Porat, and this is a wonderful vacation get a way. No loud cities to contend with, just peace and serenity. You’ll love this tiny fishing village, and it’s inhabitants.
